Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am only virtual at this time. I see clients through a HIPAA-compliant virtual video platform.

  • I am licensed in the state of Kentucky, and authorized through PSYPACT to see individuals who live in PSYPACT approved states. I can see clients in the following states:

    Alabama • Arizona • Arkansas • Colorado • Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands • Connecticut • Delaware • District of Columbia • Florida • Georgia • Idaho • Illinois • Indiana • Kansas • Kentucky • Maine • Maryland • Michigan • Minnesota • Mississippi • Missouri • Nebraska • Nevada • New Hampshire • New Jersey • North Carolina • North Dakota • Ohio • Oklahoma • Pennsylvania • Rhode Island • South Carolina • South Dakota • Tennessee • Texas • Utah • Vermont • Virginia • Washington • West Virginia • Wisconsin • Wyoming

  • My availability varies widely; the free consultation is the best way to see if our schedules will work together. I do have evening availability, to help accommodate those who are working.

  • No, as a psychologist I do not prescribe medication. If you need help finding a reputable prescriber to manage your medications, I can provide referrals to qualified and trusted medical providers.

  • Listen, every therapist is not for every person. I’ve been through a few psychologists myself! Maybe our schedules don’t line up, maybe my fees aren’t in your budget, or maybe you just don’t vibe with me or my approach! That is completely okay and I am happy to provide you a list of referrals to providers in the area. I fully believe everyone is deserving of quality mental health care with a therapist that gets them - and if that’s not me, I want to at least get you in the right direction.

  • Please go to the nearest Emergency Room, call 911, call the National Crisis Line at 988, or visit the nearest Mental Health Urgent Care Center.

  • I am not currently credentialed with any insurance panels, though I am looking to change that in the future. For the time being, I am self-pay only and happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

  • A Superbill is a detailed invoice that a client can submit to their insurance for reimbursement if their provider is out of network. I am happy to provide you with a Superbill and help you understand that process to see if you can get reimbursed for part of the fee.

  • There are many reasons someone might prefer private pay over using insurance - confidentiality, expansion of qualified therapist options, less restrictions regarding treatment options and session limits, and more. Occasionally, it can even be cheaper if you have a high co-pay or deductible plan!

I know finances play a role in the decision-making process of what therapist is right for you. I will always be transparent and upfront about the cost of investment, and open to discussing any financial questions or concerns you might have.

  • We invest our time and money into so many different things in our lives, and mental health care for ourselves is not usually one of them. You deserve to invest that time and money into yourself as well! I’d love to help you reach your mental health goals - the “payoff” so to speak, of the investment.
