Hey! I’m Dr. Jen.
I am a Louisville-based licensed clinical psychologist providing virtual therapy and ADHD assessments to adults located in participating PSYPACT states. I have over a decade of experience in the mental health field, with specific training in health psychology. I love helping people find their value, purpose, and meaning in life. Sometimes that might be through education and skills building; other times, that might be processing how we got to where we are in the first place.
I am a Kentucky transplant, but after spending 10 years here in the bluegrass state, it has become my community and forever home. In my spare time, you can find me hiking in the forest with my family, playing Zelda on my Switch, or at the garden store buying plants that I absolutely do not need. Some of my identities include wife, mom, educator, psychologist, neurospicy adhd brain, coffee connoisseur, cat lover, and nature enthusiast. I cut my pizza with scissors because it is very efficient but somehow this really upsets people - and I will never understand that. If you cut your pizza with scissors or think that's brilliant, we're probably an excellent match.

My Approach
I strongly believe that every person is capable of changing and living the life they envision, and that everyone can benefit from therapy. No one is "too broken" or "too much." Many of the things that people come to therapy with are a result of behaviors learned over time that may have served them well at one point - but are no longer helpful. I practice what I preach, and do my own work in therapy - yes even therapists have therapists! Coming from a rural upbringing myself, I also value the importance of accessibility to quality care - which is why I offer my services virtually.
I blend a variety of therapeutic approaches to help meet your individual needs. We work together to develop treatment goals, and I check in on how this is going along the way through feedback after each session. Working with me is half skills-building, half processing how we got here in the first place.
I will challenge you on distorted thinking that is not serving you, and help you find balance between being realistic, and being kind to yourself.
We will work together to figure out what gives you purpose and meaning in life, and how to get you living your life more in line with your values.
When hard skills are needed, I will walk you through them step by step in a collaborative and clear manner, leaving you feeling confident that you can use the skills outside of session.
If it’s applicable, I’ll share my own lived experience in a therapeutic and purposeful way - to share another perspective, and to help you feel understood.
And then sometimes - sometimes you just need a session to vent and receive validation that what you are going through is hard. And I’m there for that too.
